IT Network and Systems Engineer:

The IT Network and Systems Engineer is a member of a team responsible for the availability, reliability, performance, and security of the core IT infrastructure that provides the foundation for day-to-day operations. This position includes responsibilities related to the companies physical and cloud datacenters, networks, enterprise storage, virtualization infrastructure, and critical infrastructure services and applications.

Key Responsibilities:
Network Engineering/Architecture:

Implements and maintains all enterprise network infrastructure, including all WAN, LAN, wireless, and data center networking needs.
Implements and maintains physical data center resources, including servers, chassis, cabling, and network equipment.
Implement and manage Azure networking solutions, including Virtual Networks, VPN Gateways, and Azure Firewall.
Implements and maintains Microsoft and VMWare based virtualization infrastructure, including management of compute/storage/networking resources, high availability configurations such as replication, fail-over clustering, and server provisioning.
Implements and maintains corporate communications infrastructure for services such as email, telephony, and video conferencing.
Implements and maintains other critical infrastructure services, including directory services, DNS, file services, and backups.
Assure that all forms of backups are set up and running properly, including testing restores.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability. Manage SD-WAN circuits to all locations.

Cybersecurity:

Assure that security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect network and data assets are followed. Responsible for PCI compliance.
Work with 3rd parties to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security risks.
Monitor network traffic for unusual activity and respond to security incidents.
Stay up to date with the latest cybersecurity trends and threats, applying best practices to mitigate risks.
Assure that all servers are up to date with respect to operating systems and intrusion protections.

Collaboration & Documentation:

Follows established change management procedures and creates and maintains network and system architecture diagrams and documentation.
Provide training and support to staff on network security best practices and Office 365 usage.
Works with IT Help Desk to ensure timely and proper resolution of service desk incidents/problems that require escalation.
Provides on-call support for all areas of responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' network and system infrastructure administration experience in a business environment having at least 100 network devices.
Hands-on experience with Azure networking services, Cisco Meraki solutions, Office 365 administration, and Veeam backups.
Ability to manage and automate infrastructure using scripting, such as PowerShell or other languages.
Experience configuring and supporting current versions of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SQL Server, Teams, and Exchange.
Experience maintaining and troubleshooting a highly available virtualized infrastructure based on Hyper-V or VMWare.
Experience maintaining enterprise grade SAN and NAS (NFS/CIFS/ISCSI) storage technologies.
Experience in administration of firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, and network cabling.
Current infrastructure, network, or security certifications preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Azure Cloud infrastructure experience preferred.
Entra ID and Office 365/Microsoft 365 experience preferred.
IBM i or AS/400 experience a plus.
Occasional travel expected to assure our various locations are set up correctly.
